Part Four: Challenges foreseen
There is an old saying- “Some days you get the bear and some days the bear gets you”
As I contemplated building this piece I will admit there was some fear, both real and imagined. There were physical limitations time wise with printing, molds cure time, cast time, etc. that all had to be carefully put in place and paid attention to.
There were test cad and prints for texture and fit with 25 molds.
There were 57 waxes to bi-metal cast in 18K yellow and white gold, with prefinishing and fitting.
There was simultaneous focus required on both the view from 10,000 feet and the ground.
And the winter was severe- with delivery delays, flu to avoid, and frozen pipes.
And the list goes on…
In the end, I decided to look that bear squarely in the eye, and thank him for keeping me on my toes!
