I was honored when my Windmill Bank was selected to be a part of the “200 years of Kentucky Craft: A Bicentennial Celebration” show, representing the best of Kentucky from the late 1700’s to present.
I always loved the book Don Quixote, and the windmill is my take on Don Quixote meets the Mechanical Banks of years past. You put a coin in the top, it makes the blades turn, and falls to the bottom where you pull a slot out to get your coin.
Among my favorite pieces, its all hand fabricated, down to each individual roof tile. Its made out of sterling silver, copper, brass, 24K gold and steel.
