He remembered working with Annie over the years, so once again he turned toher to help him make this necklace a reality.
He envisioned the necklace laying on his wife’s neck as a clustered almost web-like design, with movement and balance. He and Annie looked at various layouts of the insects, and settled on the one shown above.
Annie went to work. The bugs needed to be held in place for the design layout, and at the same time have movement to be comfortable to wear… the kind of challenge she thrives on.
The Navaho bug collection was transformed with a complex linkage system engineered underneath the bugs. The insects appear to float in place- responding to the movement of the neck as if to a gentle breeze… Success!
“She loves her necklace… it was worth everything to see the look on her face.”
