PART ONE: SUBMIT SURRENDER TO THE COMPETITION
I thought I was almost done, render the piece and off it goes, right?? Well, not quite. The size of the file and with the textured links was close to 500,000- just try waiting many, many hours for that to render with time getting short!
So I learned to reduce the size of the file significantly while staying true to the design so that I could get a render that I was happy with.
Then send it in with a click… and get the confirmation back… Your registration is complete! The easiest part of the process yet. Now comes the hard part- the waiting.
A month and a half later, I received the call- I made it to the finals… yippeee! I had until January 31 to deliver the necklace to Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I let myself float for a few days, absorbing the news. Then it was time to take care of business.
